Summer Quilt - Finished! from Quilting Studio Adventures


Summer Quilting is so much different than quilting in the other seasons.  Evenings I quilt.  Cool and cold days are perfect for sitting with a quilt and stitching.  But in summers?  No way?  Not to mention that my body temp is always 10 degrees warmer than John's.  So for several summers I have "summer quilted", meaning that I will hand-quilt a block at a time and then join these blocks using Sharon Pederson's Reversible Quilting method.

Churches in Attic Windows Quilt from From My Carolina Home

Fresh off the frame is this customer quilt that I just had to show you.  She did such an interesting thing with her borders!  I loaded her backing, batting and top on the longarm and got busy quilting.

She chose a small looping pantograph that worked well with the small windows.
